You are not here to make another generic wedding highlight or a corporate interview. You are here because you want to see the "Graphic Novel come to life". You understand that a lens is just a tool, but the way we manipulate time and light is where the soul of the project lives.
I am MJ, the Creative Director of Knotted Tree Studios. My path through the shadows was not a straight line; it was a climb full of failures sprinkled with successes, and that is exactly what I want to share with you. KTS is an ever-evolving beast, and this site is my lab, which I humbly invite you through.
I am not the ultimate authority, but I am definitely a practitioner. I take risks and try concepts that push boundaries, which is an exciting space to live in. I have spent years building a network of models, makeup artists, and fellow "Strange and Unusual" creators. Now, I am opening the vault to share the technical and creative blueprints of how we build these worlds.
This space is for the videographers who are tired of the "influencer" vibe and want to start creating high-production IP. You will find our project breakdowns, orchestral horror scoring techniques, and the actual production journeys of our narrative short films.

The Magic Mask Engine in DaVinci Resolve
The DaVinci Neural Engine powers this tool, analyzing motion, texture, and fine details as it tracks a subject throughout a clip. For colorists, this is a major improvement. It allows us to adjust lighting on a face or change the color of clothing without relying on traditional power windows or manual tracking. The process is easier, but the creative control remains strong.
