Knotted Tree Studios is a dark fine art photography studio based just outside Austin, in Buda, Texas. We are not a volume studio. We do not run sessions back to back through a daylight room with a paper backdrop.
Every session happens in a dedicated private venue, lit deliberately, shaped around shadow instead of fighting it. This is the difference between a portrait and a reckoning.

The studio venue sits in Buda, Texas, just south of Austin off I-35. It is private, easy to find, and close enough that most clients in the metro are looking at a short, easy drive, not a half-day commitment.
If you are coming from further out, plenty of clients make a day of it. Either way, the venue is built so you can arrive, settle in, and forget about the drive the moment you walk through the door.

What Austin Clients Ask.
How far is the studio from Austin?
The venue is in Buda, about 20 minutes south of downtown Austin off I-35. Most clients from South Austin and Kyle are closer, 10 to 15 minutes.
Do I need modeling experience?
No. Most clients have never done anything like this before. We direct everything, you do not need to know how to pose.
What does a session cost?
The session fee is $600. Collections start at $800, and most clients invest around $1,600 total. Payment plans are available.
Is the studio private?
Completely. One client at a time, in a dedicated venue, with a digital gallery that is yours alone unless you choose to share it.
Do you shoot boudoir, maternity, and nude?
Yes, all three are core to what we do. Each is treated as its own kind of session, not a single generic package.
