Boudoir photography is an amazing art form which allows the subject to feel empowered, beautiful and on top of the world. It’s a special kind of shoot which needs to be handled with care, understanding and a creative and trained eye.
Lighting techniques can be vastly different inside of a boudoir photoshoot, depending on the desired look and knowing how to sculpt the body with various light sources becomes a necessity. Over the years we have trudged through the trenches of trail and error and have become quite confident in our methods. My name is Danie and I’m Knotted Tree Studio’s Boudoir Photographer! I’m so excited that you have chosen to consider us to do your next boudoir shoot!
Boudoir is an art form; the genre tells a story and I absolutely love the story telling process. I take my job seriously and it is my goal to not only make sure that you feel comfortable, but also that you have an end product that you are proud of and that makes you feel sexy as an individual.
It is my goal to make you feel good about yourself, boost your confidence and have something to show off to that special someone. Here’s a little back story: I recently had an awaking, as a DV survivor I was still struggling with self-confidence. Even though I found my self-worth and escaped a 10yr nightmare about 4yrs ago, something was still missing. Outside I appear confident, but inside I still fight that little voice constantly picking away and challenging my insecurities.
Fast forward: I decided to do something for myself to make myself feel beautiful and confident. Making an appointment with Knotted Tree Studio is as simple as a FB message. They have amazing response time and answered all my inquiries upfront. We agreed on a date and time. The photographer gave me a few suggestions of items to bring, if I wanted. The studio also has many props and options. One thing I appreciate is the artistry and vision they bring to each and every session.
I arrived to the studio, which is a work in progress in itself. Danie and Michael immediately put me to ease, showing me around and walking me through everything to expect. No need to worry about makeup or hair as that is included in the package I chose, (please remember to tip because that’s the nice thing to do).
Danie has the ability to sense and boost your confidence, she is patient and kind. She directs and poses you if you’re not sure what to do, by the end of the shoot I was having fun and feeling natural!!! Privacy was always maintained. Music changed and provided as needed. Also, wine never hurts!! She had an eye for beauty and art. Final edits were received within days, I was shocked at how fast I received them.
By the end, I felt beautiful and confident. I walked away with more than just a photo, I walked away with an experience and a little more self-love!! If you’re on the fence, go ahead and hop over because YOU ARE WORTH IT!!!! Book that shoot, thank me later."
